short fix: DON’T HUG ME I’M SCARED
Don’t Hug me I’m Scared takes a page from the classic children’s educational show (think Blue’s Clues and Sesame Street), then scribbles all over it in a darkly comic way. Shown at the 2012 LA Film Festival, it could be an instructional video of sorts on how to be creative. Or rather, how NOT to be creative. Watch for yourself and decide.
Directors: Joseph Pelling, Rebecca Sloan
Writer/producer/cast: This Is It Collective
Rebecca Sloan and Joseph Pelling are both members of the This Is It Collective, a group of illustrators, animators, artists and designers. Working in a shared studio in East London, making short films and animations, they create —either purely for enjoyment or for evil multinational corporations.
