Screenings
Film Lovers: All you have to do is watch.
Preview Screenings
Film Independent provides its members with 2-3 free Preview Screenings of the latest indie releases every month. Many screenings are followed by a Q&A reception with select filmmakers and talent. Visit our event calendar to see what's playing!
Spirit Awards Screenings
In addition to the monthy Preview Screeings, we also screen the Spirit Awards nominanted films during awards season in Los Angeles and New York. As the primary voting body for the Spirit Awards, we want our members to be informed. To ensure that each film gets a fair shake, we put on free member-only festival style screenings of all Spirit Award nominees.
Visit our Spirit Awards site for more info!
Cinema Lounge
Film Independent’s Cinema Lounge is the coolest way to view short films
and meet filmmakers. Cinema Lounge takes center stage at the hip and
chic W Hollywood Hotel.
Sip a cocktail on a comfy couch and watch an eclectic mix of
fascinating foreign, inspiring documentary, brilliantly crafted
animated or truly entertaining short films. Each month there are new
and fresh films and filmmakers that want to share their stories with
you after the screening.
Join the fun on the third Tuesday of the month (except June and December) at 7:30pm at Cinema Lounge.
6250 Hollywood Boulevard

Project:Involve Screenings
Through Project:Involve (P:I), Film Independent brings independent feature films directly to underserved communities in the form of free community screenings. These screenings showcase the work of talented underrepresented filmmakers and offer audience members the chance to discuss the film and meet the filmmaker.
The P:I Showcase takes place in April at Disney Hall's REDCAT and presents films from current and past P:I Fellows. The P:I Screening at the Los Angeles Film Festival in June highlights the feature film of a P:I Fellow and is followed by an After Party. Two additional P:I Community Screenings are scheduled annually and are free and open to the public.
