ted kroeber:

producer, american gun

Producer Ted Kroeber has just wrapped production on his second feature, Four Sheets to the Wind, written and directed by NHK Award nominee Sterlin Harjo. Previously, Ted produced the feature film American Gun along with Forest Whitaker and his Spirit Dance Entertainment. With his partner, writer/director Aric Avelino, Kroeber assembled a cast that includes Marcia Gay Harden, Whitaker, Donald Sutherland, Tony Goldwyn, Linda Cardellini, and Nikki Reed. A look at the effects of guns on three communities across the nation, the film was released by IFC Films in April 2006.

Kroeber is currently in development on several projects, including The Listening Party written by Sean Blythe and to be directed by John Chuldenko. Additionally, Kroeber was selected to participate in Film Independent's 2003 Producers Lab and is the Sundance Institute's 2005 Mark Silverman Fellow.

A producer of six short films, Kroeber worked for Jerry Bruckheimer Films during the production of the films Enemy of the State and Armageddon and later at Marty Katz Productions and for Paramount Pictures at Cruise/Wagner Productions. Additionally, he has worked on commercials, shorts, and features in a variety of roles including first assistant director, production manager, and line producer.

In 1999, Kroeber's short Borders was a finalist in the 1999 DGA Angelus Awards. Additionally, Borders was one of only three American films to screen at the 2000 Sehsuchte Festival in Potsdam, Germany, and was seen domestically on PBS on the Fine Cut film series.

Kroeber is a graduate of Loyola Marymount University. He volunteered for two years in the Inner City Teaching Corps, teaching eighth grade on Chicago's westside, and has been profiled by the Chicago Tribune and Vanity Fair. He is a recipient of the Riordan Foundation's Andrew Bogel Award and the Fr. Robert Graham Award for Service and Leadership. Kroeber is a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity and the Alpha Sigma Nu Honor Society and serves as a mentor in Film Independent's Project:Involve.
