DAVID ZEIGER:

Director, SIR! NO SIR!

Exclamation mark

David Zeiger's films follow the journeys of everyday people during times of dramatic change. His twoyears as an organizer for the GI Movement during the height of the Vietnam War formed the basis for Sir! No Sir!, which won the Audience Award for Best Documentary at the 2005 Los Angeles Film Festival and was in theaters this past Spring. In 2001 he created, produced and directed the landmark PBS series Senior Year, which followed 15 teenagers through their tumultuous last year at the most diverse school in Los Angeles, Fairfax High. 2003's Funny Old Guys for HBO recounted the last months in the life of TV and film writer Frank Tarloff. In 1996, Zeiger made his most personal film, The Band, for the PBS series P.O.V. It tells his own story of coming to terms with his son's growth from child to adult, and the tragic death - several years earlier - of his other son.
