Writers Salon 2016: Genre

Film Independent’s Writers Salon returns, bringing together some of today’s top screenwriters to talk about a specific aspect of the craft in an intimate setting. This session will focus on writing genre films; from traditional horror fare to fresh approaches that are redefining, well… genre.

Confirmed panelists include Fede Alvarez (Don’t BreatheEvil Dead), Ana Lily Amirpour (A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night, The Bad Batch) and Simon Barrett (You’re Next, The Guest, Blair Witch).

The conversation will be moderated by screenwriter Howard A. Rodman whose credits include August, Joe Gould’s Secret and Savage Grace, for which he received a Film Independent Spirit Award nomination for Best Screenplay. Rodman is President of the Writers Guild of America, West.

PLEASE NOTE: The evening will begin with a tea and dessert reception at 7:00 pm for all attendees. Conversation begins at 7:30 pm.
