As promised this IndieLink was rescheduled by popular demand and will focus on the work of editors The first 30 editors to register will get to present their reels to an audience of producers, directors and other editors. Film Independent is offering the opportunity to take a two-day introductory course in Final Cut Pro 6.  The course will include both demonstration and hands-on practice, with time for experimentation with sample material. Topics on Day 1 will include project management, log and capturing videotape, creation of sequences, 3-point editing techniques, edit sync material, trim sequences, audio editing, video transitions, and final output to video file.

Film Independent is pleased to present the return of our popular orientation on the spring European festivals and markets.  Hosted by Peter Belsito of Film Finders, this panel event will discuss and explain how to navigate festivals and markets such as Rotterdam, Cinemart, and Berlin.  These events can be important sources for pre-sales, financing, and distribution for the American indie. Note: you can still attend even if you’re not planning to visit these festivals/markets.

Film Independent is broadening its horizons with the first of a pair of sessions focused on working in television. As the independent film world goes through tough times programming on the small screen is more prolific, diverse, and innovative than at any time in its history.  More and more filmmakers are turning to television to start new careers or to fill the gap between films.
