HBO Documentary Films Fellowship
In 2008, Film Independent announced the inaugural HBO Documentary Films/Film Independent Fellowship which carries a production grant of $10,000. This new Fellowship was established to provide direct support to one exceptional documentary filmmaker selected for Film Independent`s Fast Track program by giving him or her the necessary resources to help complete his or her film.The HBO Documentary Films/Film Independent Fellowship combines HBO`s funding with Film Independent`s year-round support services to give documentary filmmakers the necessary tools to develop their craft.
To be considered for the 2009 HBO Documentary Films/Film Independent Fellowship, documentary filmmakers must apply to the 2009 Fast Track program, and indicate that they wish to be considered for the Fellowship. For more information on Fast Track, please click here.
The first-ever recipient of this Fellowship is Christian Bruno, who is currently directing the feature length documentary, Strand: A Natural History of the Cinema.
