One of the benefits of being a Film Independent member is the privilege of voting on the Independent Spirit Awards.
An informed vote counts more (to the filmmakers and to the integrity of the process). We've made viewing and voting on the films as easy as possible.
Two ways to vote.
Nomination Packets that include ballots are mailed out on January 1, 2007.
You can choose to vote by paper ballot or vote online. (Both methods will be tabulated by Integrity Voting Systems.)
- Paper ballot deadline: Postmarked by February 10, 2007.
Simply fill out the paper ballot and return it in the envelope provided. - Online voting closes at 11:00 pm PST on February 14, 2007.
In order to vote, you will need your membership number and a personalized PIN# which is printed in red on the back flap of the return envelope provided with your paper ballot.
- Rank each category 1 through 5, with 1 being your first choice.
- Only rank movies you have seen.
For example, if you have only seen three of the movies in any category, you may rank them 1 to 3. - If you choose to rank fewer than five films in any category, your ballot will still be valid.
- If you choose not to vote in all categories your ballot will still be valid.
- All ballots are confidential.
- Only one ballot will be counted per member - either online or paper ballot
There will be a random drawing from the ballots received for one of the official Independent Spirit Awards Presenter Gift Baskets. Last year's basket was valued at over $10,000. But you have to vote to win!
