IndieLinks at the 2011 Forum

Fall marks a new season of opportunities for filmmakers through our programs, but opportunities can have deadlines, and the first is approaching on September 28. Film Independent Forum’s early registration period ends on this day, and with it the chance to pre-register for IndieLinks, a signature part of the Forum.

IndieLinks provide attendees the unique chance to meet with a number of industry companies and executives, and those who buy a (reduced rate!) Forum pass early get to choose their meetings first.

October 1 brings the submission deadline for two Artist Development programs: the 2013 Directing Lab and the newly announced Wildfire Post-Production Sound Grant. The Directing Lab offers directors the opportunity to prep their independent feature films through an intensive ten-week program under the guidance of Lab Mentors. Directors have the chance to get script feedback, workshop scenes, take part in a mini-production and more. The Lab takes place in Los Angeles in February and March.

Wildfire Post-Production Studios has recently teamed with us to provide a complimentary sound mix package to a feature film directed or produced by a Film Independent Fellow, Los Angeles Film Festival alum or past Spirit Award nominee/winner. Wildfire’s facility credits include Lawless, Beginners, 50/50 and A Single Man among many others. Submissions for this sound grant, valued at $40,000, begin Wednesday, September 12.

While not quite winter, the next few months would be a great time to consider the future of your feature length documentary if it’s in post-production. Our Documentary Lab is now in its third year and applications for the 2013 class are being accepted until December 3.
