The TikTok Real Short Award supports select LA Film Festival filmmakers with a $10,000 grant.

The TikTok Real Short Award

TikTok, a Platinum Sponsor of the 2018 LA Film Festival, proudly hosts the Real Short Award, which gives LA Film Festival filmmakers the chance to win a $10,000 grant. The central concept of the Award is “Why I’m a Filmmaker,” encouraging participants to showcase their passion to fans of the LA Film Festival through the power of short, mobile vertical video.

Submissions were accepted via Film Independent’s official TikTok account (@filmindependent) until September 21. The winner of the Award was announced at the Filmmaker & Press Reception on September 23 at The LINE Hotel.

All of the TikTok Real Short Award submissions, including Ann’s winning short, can be viewed on the official Film Independent TikTok account (@filmindependent).

TikTok & Project Involve

TikTok is a Lead Sponsor of Project Involve in 2019, an intensive nine-month program supporting filmmakers from communities typically underrepresented in film and entertainment. Project Involve is currently celebrating its 25th anniversary.
