Festival Visions: To a Land Unknown

Festival Visions, now in its third year, is a series that shines a light on films discovered this year in regional film festivals across the US. We’re excited to present these exceptional titles that are currently without distribution and deserve to be seen by a wider audience.

You’re invited to join us for an online screening of To a Land Unknown, followed by a pre-recorded conversation with director Mahdi Fleifel, moderated by Serge Bakalian (Founder and Executive Director, Arab Film Festival).

To a Land Unknown was selected for Festival Visions in partnership with the Arab Film Festival and will screen alongside Oneyda. (Remember, no need to register for both of these titles – as long as you register for one film, you’ll be able to see both.)

Reda and Chatila are two Palestinian cousins hustling their way through the underbelly of Athens, pursuing their dream of making it to Germany. But as their hardship grows, so too does their desperation. When Chatila hatches a reckless all-or-nothing plan, it strains their bond and pushes the limits of what they will do for freedom.
