Wednesdays, January 15 – February 12

The Landmark | View parking info/directions

Over the past decade, Film Independent’s Directors Close-Up has featured highly acclaimed and accomplished filmmakers discussing their craft in fascinating detail.

The annual DCU consists of five unique events over the course of five weeks in January and February, with each night focusing on a different aspect of the art and business of filmmaking. No other event drills down so thoroughly to give attendees insight into the creative processes of today’s top directors.

Each evening concludes with a hosted reception, giving attendees the opportunity to meet their peers and forge new relationships.

This year’s series will feature incredible talent, including:

Noah Baumbach (Marriage Story)
Laure de Clermont-Tonnerre (The Mustang)
Alma Har’el (Honey Boy)
Silas Howard (Pose)
Marvin Lemus (Gentefied)
Kyle Patrick Alvarez (Homecoming)
Lorene Scafaria (Hustlers)
Lynn Shelton (Dickinson)
Lulu Wang (The Farewell)
Olivia Wilde (Booksmart)
Benh Zeitlin (Wendy, Beasts of the Southern Wild)
