Bio
Erica Tanamachi has been directing and producing social justice documentary films for over two decades in the non-profit sector. She creates films that share underrepresented stories to incite change and offer solidarity within an increasingly divided country. Her debut feature documentary Home Court was broadcast on Independent Lens (2025) and screened around the world, winning multiple best documentary/audience awards. Her short film Winn (Reel South) won PBS Best Short Film (2023). Her work is supported by ITVS Open Call, Perspective Foundation, California Humanities, CAAM, TAAF, Big Sky Pitch, Gotham, Women Make Movies and private foundations. She is a 2024 Wyncote Fellow.
