Logline
Amidst the neon glow of Chinatown and the chaos of an underworld of duels, dances, and degenerates, a rebellious firebrand, Red, takes on a manipulative ring leader, Rico, to upend his empire and save herself from his deadly grasp, ridding the world of the scourge of hate and violence that takes place nightly at the Beijing Rodeo
Synopsis
The Beijing Rodeo is a neo-noir action thriller set against a surreal underground rodeo that fuses Chinatown grit, Western outlaw spectacle, and nightclub choreography. At its heart, it is a story of betrayal, survival, and identity, told through the collision of live stuntwork, stylized duels, and operatic violence.
From its inception, Beijing Rodeo was designed to be a bold experiment in film form. It fuses cinematic narrative with the immediacy of live performance to create a new kind of screening: the movie concert experience. This format transforms traditional models of distribution and exhibition, allowing the film to live in multiple spaces. From film festivals to live music festivals, to nightclubs, and immersive event venues. It is built to be flexible, communal, and alive. In doing so, the project exemplifies a call to champion creative independence in visual storytelling in all its forms. It pushes the boundaries of what an independent film can look, sound, and feel like, making the audience feel excited and intrigued about the innovative screening format.
