Bio

Sydne Horton is a queer writer-director raised in the Midwest, now based in Los Angeles. Her film Saturday Ritual premiered with Palm Springs ShortFest, screened at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival with the American Pavilion Emerging Filmmaker Showcase, and won the Best Teen Film Audience Award at NewFest. Her earlier works were exhibited at Seattle’s Museum of Pop Culture and featured in the book I Spit on Your Celluloid: The History of Women Directing Horror Movies. Horton is a 2026 Film Independent Project Involve Directing Fellow, and an alum of Women in Film’s Directing Mentorship and the Emmys Television Academy Internship.
