After watching a man rob a blind person in Mexico City, an ophthalmologist takes revenge by deliberately deceiving the robber about a pair of eclipse glasses — unleashing a chain reaction that blinds an entire community.
Synopsis
Dr. Luna, a modest ophthalmologist in Mexico City, struggles to make ends meet while trying to maintain a sense of integrity and purpose in his work. One day, he witnesses a well-dressed businessman, Gustavo, steal money from Ramiro—a blind street singer who performs outside his clinic. Luna does not intervene in the moment. Instead, he watches… and decides.
Later, inside an optician shop, Luna approaches Gustavo and deliberately misleads him about which glasses are safe to use for an upcoming solar eclipse. Exploiting his authority as a doctor, he convinces him to buy a pair of inexpensive purple sunglasses instead of certified eclipse lenses. What begins as a calculated act of personal justice quickly spirals beyond Luna’s control.
Gustavo wears the glasses. Others see them and trust them. The misinformation spreads. The glasses multiply across the city.On the day of the eclipse, hundreds of people look directly at the sun. The consequences are immediate and devastating. Luna’s clinic fills with patients who have lost their sight. Panic spreads. Violence erupts. Gustavo, now blind and armed, returns seeking answers. What began as a single act of vengeance becomes a city-wide tragedy—forcing Luna to confront the irreversible consequences of his decision.
