Industry Insights: Intimacy Coordination

Over the past decade, the Intimacy Coordinator has become a highly valued collaborator on film and TV sets. Filmmakers are increasingly embracing Intimacy Coordinators as trusted partners who help create an environment where actors and crew feel supported while filming vulnerable and intimate moments. Since this is a relatively new position, many filmmakers have questions: When should you bring on an Intimacy Coordinator? How do they fit into the creative process? What should you budget for an IC?

This session will offer practical guidance and insight into the role, helping filmmakers better understand how Intimacy Coordinators contribute to both the production process and the creative vision.

With extensive experience in entertainment, including seven years as an Intimacy Coordinator after training with top organizations in three different countries, Allison Bibicoff will walk us through her workflow, explaining an IC’s role from pre-production through filming. She’ll discuss when to hire an Intimacy Coordinator, best practices for successful collaboration, and common missteps she sees.

Join us for a frank and engaging discussion about how to build a welcoming and professional set that not only won’t compromise your vision – it will enhance it!
