Logline

When the body of a demon appears in their backyard, three friends decide to monetize the spectacle — only to unwittingly set loose a deadly cult on the neighborhood.

Synopsis

Jeanie arrives home with her late father’s ashes. The same morning, her brother Jack notices something strange in their shared backyard, and after looking closer realizes it is the body of a supernatural, demonic creature. With their other roommate Sophie, they call the police, who take the body but don’t seem to care.

A story about the demon is published, leading to public interest in their house. Jeanie, Jack, and Sophie decide to advertise house tours, where they dramatically embellish the story of finding the demon. Jeanie is opposed to this and begins spiraling, convinced the demon is somehow connected to her and Jack’s recently deceased father, and that its evil presence might still be lingering. Meanwhile, things go missing in their house, and tour guests are acting odd. More and more people show up to the tours wearing all black.

Things come to a breaking point when Jeanie sees a suspicious man at the end of their driveway, and follows several black-clad tour guests to where they are staying, at a house down the street. She confronts Jack during a tour, and the three of them agree to stop, after just one event where they will charge an entrance fee.

But endings are never as simple as they seem, and Jeanie, Jack, and Sophie have set things into motion they can’t undo. Is it the demon haunting them, or something else, something getting closer in the neighborhood?
