Logline

After a tragic accident leaves her caught between life and death, a grieving young girl awakens in a dreamlike Trinidad & Tobago, where she must find her late grandmother’s spirit — before a brewing storm traps her in the dream forever.

Synopsis

When 16-year-old Amaya loses her beloved grandmother, she struggles to grieve—torn between her Trinidadian heritage and American upbringing. After a sudden car accident leaves Amaya unconscious, she awakens on a beach in a dreamlike Trinidad and Tobago—where a mysterious fisherman warns her that a dangerous storm is approaching. If she gets caught in it, she will be trapped in the dream forever. When Amaya discovers a poem she wrote for her grandmother hidden in the sand, she sets out on a journey to her family’s home in San Juan, hoping to find refuge from the coming storm—and hoping to reunite with her grandmother there one last time.

Told through a deeply emotional and magical-realist lens, Home is a lyrical exploration of grief, memory, and ancestral connection. It reminds us of the bonds we share with our loved ones—even beyond the physical world.
