About the speaker

Lisa Ebersole is a writer, filmmaker and actor. She created the award-winning comedy series 37 Problems (Amazon, Xfinity, Elizabeth Banks’ WHAHAHA), just sold a Christmas movie that she’ll write and direct this year, and is currently writing an autobiographical dark half-hour episodic called Ghosted. Lisa received her MFA in Screenwriting from UCLA in 2014. Prior to that, she was a New York playwright known for the Off-Off Broadway plays Brother (Samuel French) and Mother, starring Holland Taylor & Buck Henry.

Lisa got her start in the animation world as the founding Editor-in-Chief of the kids site BrainPOP and then as a writer/producer for Disney Interactive’s inaugural iPhone apps. Lisa is the Co-Founder of “Hollywood Womxn Happy Hour,” a monthly networking event that has connected over a hundred industry womxn with support and jobs in the last 12 months. A Washington, D.C. native and longtime New Yorker, Lisa now calls Venice Beach home.
