Out of Office Series: Edie Arnold Is a Loser
Out of Office Series: Edie Arnold Is a Loser
We’re taking Film Independent Presents on a summer getaway… but don’t worry, we’re bringing the movies with us.
This August, settle in for a curated lineup of acclaimed new independent films, each paired with filmmaker conversations. Whether you’re watching from your couch or your own vacation destination, the Out of Office series is your passport to great independent cinema.
No commute. No dress code. Just great stories.
Film Independent Members, you and a guest are invited to watch Edie Arnold Is a Loser in the Film Independent Presents Online Screening Room, powered by Vision Media, followed by a pre-recorded conversation with directors Kade Atwood and Megan Rico, moderated by Rachel Bleemer (Director of Programming and Events, Film Independent).
Please note: This screening is available only to individuals located in the state of California.
Timid dork Edie accidentally takes the spotlight when she starts a punk band with her fellow “turds”, becoming an icon to the rest of the losers at her all-girls Catholic school while managing to piss off the hot girls, the nuns, and the horniest altar boy you’ve ever seen.
Edie Arnold Is a Loser premiered at the 2026 SXSW Film Festival and played at the Miami Film Festival and Seattle International Film Festival. It will be released theatrically on September 4.
2026, 73 minutes, color | English | Written by Megan Rico | Directed by Megan Rico, Kade Atwood | Main Cast Adi Madden Cabrera, McKenna Tuckett, Cherish Rodriguez | Produced by Bryson Alejandro, Kade Atwood
