Sloan Salon: Producing + Science: Developing Hollywood Size Stories Based on IP

As our fascination with science continues to grow, so do the stories that emerge from it. We are excited to collaborate with the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation to present a captivating panel that explores the intersection of science and storytelling. This year’s Sloan Salon will shine a spotlight on the process of developing compelling, scientifically grounded narratives that resonate with audiences worldwide.

Join us virtually as Peabody Award-winning moderator Wendy Calhoun (Station 19, Empire, Nashville) leads a discussion with esteemed producers Lisa Bruce (The Theory of Everything) and Jim Young (The Man Who Knew Infinity), and professors Dr. Raychelle Burks (Associate Professor of Analytical Chemistry at American University; science communicator) and Elena Conis (Professor, Department of History and Graduate School of Journalism at UC Berkeley).

Together, they will delve into the challenges and rewards of adapting stories based on science IP, offering insights into how to bring Hollywood-size stories to life while maintaining scientific integrity and captivating audiences.
