Anita Gou is a film and multimedia producer who founded Kindred Spirit, which curates high-quality content in film, television, and emerging media. Her most recent feature films The Farewell (starring Awkwafina) and Honey Boy (starring Shia LaBeouf and Lucas Hedges) premiered in competition at Sundance 2019. Both films were picked up by A24 and Amazon Studios, respectively, in multimillion dollar deals, and released theatrically in 2019. The Farewell picked up a Golden Globe nomination for Best Foreign Film. Previously, Gou produced and financed Sam Levinson’s Assassination Nation, which marked the biggest sale of Sundance 2018 to NEON and was released wide theatrical that year. She is currently in post production on a music film project directed by Hiro Murai and starring FKA Twigs, a feature film starring Ed Helms and Patti Harrison, and a feature documentary by Amanda Lipitz.
