LOS ANGELES (April 10, 2026) – Film Independent, the nonprofit arts organization behind the Film Independent Spirit Awards, today announced the dates for its 2027 and 2028 ceremonies. Returning to the historic Hollywood Palladium, the 42nd annual Spirit Awards will take place on Saturday, March 6, 2027, followed by the 43rd edition on Saturday, February 19, 2028.

As Film Independent’s primary fundraiser, the Spirit Awards support the organization’s year-round programs, which champion a global community of artists and audiences who embody diversity, innovation, curiosity, and bold, distinctive vision.

Film Independent celebrated the 41st Film Independent Spirit Awards on February 15, 2026, hosted by Saturday Night Live alum Ego Nwodim.
