A punk band moves into a remote cabin in the woods to record their new album and unwittingly unleash an unspeakable cosmic horror.

Synopsis

We begin in the jungles of South America where a small archeological expedition led by DR. WALLACE has uncovered an ancient artifact left by an extinct civilization – the mysterious DEATH WHISTLE, a twisted instrument used in diabolical rituals. The expedition goes horribly wrong and he is the only survivor. Years later, we are backstage at rock club where ALEX is on merch duty for her boyfriend’s band – up and coming post-punk group Ersatz. They are kicking off their US tour that will conclude with recording their album in a remote cabin in Vermont, away from all the distractions and trappings of their minor success… …The very cabin where DR. WALLACE has retreated from society and where he has hidden the DEATH WHISTLE. ALEX discovers the whistle and the band records the horrible sound to tape, unleashing the frequency that corrupts any living thing who hears it and transforms them into unspeakable abominations. In order to save the world and the band, she will have to face unimaginable horrors and discover the secrets of the death whistle, without becoming distorted herself.
 

Meet the Filmmakers

Theo Cohn — Director/Writer
Theo Cohn is a Los Angeles–based film director/writer with a background in production design. He has spent 12 years in the art department from starting on The Eric Andre Show to being the Art Director on the feature East of Wall which won the Audience Award at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival. His short Sylvain’s Hunt screened internationally at festivals and he’s directed music videos for Cuco, Tokimonsta, and The Drums. A member of IATSE Local 44, his work emphasizes strong visual storytelling and practical filmmaking.

David Gantz — Screenwriter
David Gantz is a writer, director, and editor based in Los Angeles. His documentary feature Come What May, which he co-directed and edited, is currently on a national theatrical run. He served as editor on Woodstockers, winner of the Audience Award at SXSW 2026. His short films as writer-director have screened at the Brooklyn Film Festival, FilmQuest, and festivals internationally.

Slater Wayne — Producer
Slater Wayne is a Los Angeles-based Producer with over a decade of experience spanning film, television, and commercial production. He built his foundation working alongside industry veterans at Gorilla Flicks as a creative executive and producer. Slater founded Rendezvous Films, an indie film finance company, where he serves as COO. Most recently, he produced and sold Stolen Kingdom, a documentary chronicling wrongdoing and crime and Disney World. Known for bridging creative vision with operational precision, Slater brings a reputation for keeping productions on budget, on time, and on brand

Zoe Rosenberg — Producer
Zoe Rosenberg (CHOXIEE) is an award-winning producer whose work has been showcased at festivals, including Slamdance, Seattle International, Beyond Fest and Palm Springs International. Zoe is celebrated for bringing bold, unconventional narratives to life from emerging voices in film.

Ben Mullen — Cinematography
Ben Mullen was born, raised, and is based in Los Angeles, California. His cinematography has been recognized at major film festivals such as Tribeca, TIFF, SXSW, AFI and Outfest. Ben speaks English and Italian, and is a member of the IATSE Local 600.
