Not Your Daddy’s Films is a social impact organization dedicated to educating and elevating women and non binary creatives behind the camera through screenings, workshops, panels, a podcast, and more.

Synopsis

Not Your Daddy’s Films builds community by creating meaningful opportunities for women and non binary filmmakers to connect, learn, and grow. Through quarterly screenings, educational panels, hands-on workshops, and the Daddy Dailies podcast. NYDF shares resources, elevates underrepresented voices, and fosters authentic creative collaboration.

At a time when filmmakers are seeking both community and practical support, NYDF provides an inclusive space where artists can build relationships, access industry knowledge, and develop their craft. As the entertainment industry continues to struggle with championing diverse and intersectional stories, our mission is to equip the next generation of filmmakers with the resources, visibility, and network they need to thrive, and to amplify the voices shaping the future of film.
 

Meet the Filmmakers

Vika Stubblebine — Producer
Vika Stubblebine is a multi-hyphenate (writer, actor, director, stand-up comedian) who wrote on S.W.A.T (CBS). and was the on-set producer for her episodes. She now works as the producers’ assistant on season 4 of The Night Agent. Vika is an East Coast transplant who adores Los Angeles. Before S.W.A.T., Vika worked in the Sony TV department and on the Hulu Original, SHUT EYE. In 2021, Vika was selected to participate in Sony’s Emerging Writers Program. Vika has worked her way up through the industry and has experience in front of and behind the camera. Because of her varied industry experience, she is able to provide unique insight and perspective for her interviews on the NYDF podcast, Daddy Dailies, and is able to connect on many levels with the NYDF community.

Carlye Tamaren — Producer
Carlye Tamaren is a multifaceted creative force in the entertainment world. As a director, actor, writer, producer, editor, dancer, choreographer, singer, model, and martial artist skilled in Capoeira and Krav Maga, her diverse talents have left a mark across various forms of visual storytelling. Known for acting in the newest season of The Comeback (HBO), Dexter: Original Sin (Paramount+), How To Get Away With Murder (ABC), Good Trouble (Freeform), and more, she has also choreographed for Emily In Paris (Netflix), performed in Rock of Ages Hollywood, and danced with Justin Timberlake. Her debut action-comedy-musical short film, The Devil’s Daughters, premiered at the Oscar- qualifying LA Shorts International Film Festival. In 2022, Carlye co-founded Not Your Daddy’s Films, a social impact organization dedicated to empowering and educating women and non-binary filmmakers through screenings, panels, a podcast, and more. She co-hosts NYDF’s podcast Daddy Dailies and has moderated and spoken on panels at American Cinematheque, SXSW, Comic Con, Wondercon and more. Originally from St Louis, Carlye is a graduate of the University of Michigan’s prestigious BFA Musical Theater program and currently resides in Los Angeles.

Katherine Hughes — Producer
Katherine Hughes is a writer, director, and actor from New York, currently based in Los Angeles, who has spent the past decade immersed in on-set experience. Her on-screen appearances include Me, Earl & The Dying Girl (Sundance Film Festival’s Grand Jury Prize and Audience Award Winner), Byron Balasco’s Kingdom (DirecTV), Mark Boal’s Echo 3(Apple+), and Tell Me Lies (Hulu), among others. Her directorial debut, Yellow Belt Fury, showcased her talents behind the camera and opened doors to opportunities as an emerging director, including writing assignments with major studios and a development deal for her first feature. Katherine is passionate about high-concept film and television and aims to champion women in the action genre. In 2022, Katherine became one of the founders of Not Your Daddy’s Films, a social impact organization committed to empowering and educating women and nonbinary creatives through screenings, panels, and workshops. In 2024, she graduated from UCLA, majoring in gender and film.

Kourtney Bell — Producer
Kourtney Bell is a Los Angeles-based actress and filmmaker with a decade of professional experience in film and television. A dual graduate of the University of Michigan with degrees in Acting and Film, Kourtney has built a versatile on-screen career with appearances on The Detroiters, All American, Alaska Daily, and St. Denis Medical, among others. Her transition into directing led to her debut pilot Camp Greenwood, which allowed her to shadow acclaimed cinematographer Oliver Bokelberg (The Secret Agent), an experience that deepened her commitment to purposeful, visually driven storytelling. Kourtney now brings that same dedication to her work as a filmmaker, channeling her dual expertise in performance and production into compelling, character-driven narratives

Nicole Lipp — Producer
Nicole Lipp (early 30s, laughs easily and loudly) is a director, writer, and advocate born and raised in LA. As AYF Media’s co-founder, she directs and produces narratives, music videos, and branded content. Nicole’s music videos and short films have played at Oscar-qualifying festivals nationwide and garnered millions of streams. Her debut narrative short, MESSY, clinched a Best Director award; her queer comedy tearjerker, MISTAKES YOU MAKE BEFORE YOU DIE, premiered at the Oscar-qualifying Out On Film festival; and her award-winning TV pilot ETERNAL FLAME is currently in development. Nicole co-founded Not Your Daddy’s Films, a social impact organization committed to empowering and educating women and nonbinary filmmakers through screenings, panels, a podcast, and more.
