Synopsis

Project Shadowstar is a science-fiction series about a generation searching for meaning in a world more connected, yet more lonely, than ever before. At the center of the story is Jake Barnes, a drifting young man who feels invisible, disconnected, and uncertain of who he is becoming. When a mysterious fragment pulls him into a reality-bending conspiracy that stretches across worlds, Jake is forced to confront a deeper question than survival: What kind of man does he want to be?

Beneath its sci-fi mystery, action, and adventure, Project Shadowstar explores the emotional struggles many young men quietly carry today: the search for identity, the fear of failure, the ache for purpose, and the longing to belong. As Jake uncovers hidden truths about himself and the forces shaping his reality, he begins a journey from passivity to responsibility, from isolation to connection, and from self-doubt to conviction. Inspired by classic hero myths and character-driven science fiction, Project Shadowstar seeks to create a story that is both entertaining and meaningful, offering audiences an adventure that asks not only who we are, but who we are capable of becoming.

Meet the Filmmakers

Joshua Gree — Creator/Writer/Producer
Joshua Green is a filmmaker, musician, and storyteller whose work explores identity, purpose, and the search for belonging. Drawing from his own experiences navigating faith, loneliness, leadership, and personal growth, Joshua creates stories that blend emotional honesty with imaginative worldbuilding.

A graduate of the University of Louisiana at Monroe with a degree in Piano Performance, Joshua has spent more than a decade leading creative teams, producing large-scale events, and developing original media projects. His background in music, film production, and mentorship informs his approach to storytelling, which seeks to entertain while speaking to deeper human questions.

Project Shadowstar was born from Joshua’s desire to create a modern hero’s journey for a generation increasingly searching for meaning, connection, and identity in a fragmented world. The series marks his debut as a creator of
original episodic science-fiction content.

Isabella DeWitt — Producer
Bella DeWitt is a Guatemalan-American producer, actress, and filmmaker passionate about bringing meaningful stories to life through film and television. Raised in Thousand Oaks, California, Bella began performing at age six and has since expanded her work into both production and screen performance.

A graduate of Oaks Christian School’s film and production program, Bella was mentored by producer Joey Scott and developed an early passion for storytelling and creative leadership. She is currently studying Cinema and Media Arts at Biola University while gaining hands-on industry experience through her internship with General Hospital.

Bella’s credits include Forever Mine (2024) and Seasons of Life (2025), and she has collaborated with a variety of production companies and creative professionals. As a producer on Project Shadowstar, Bella helps support the creative vision and production development of the series, bringing both organizational leadership and a passion for character-driven storytelling.

Roy H. Wagner ASC — Director of Photography
Roy H. Wagner, ASC is a two-time Emmy Award-winning cinematographer whose distinguished career spans decades of film and television. A member of the American Society of Cinematographers, Roy has helped shape the visual language of some of television’s most recognized productions, including CSI, House, Burn Notice, and Quantum Leap.

Known for blending cinematic scale with emotional intimacy, Roy brings a wealth of artistic insight, technical expertise, and storytelling experience to every project. Beyond his accomplishments behind the camera, he is deeply passionate about mentoring emerging filmmakers, generously sharing the wisdom, perspective, and craftsmanship he has developed throughout his career. His commitment to helping the next generation find their voice has made him a respected collaborator and teacher both on and off set. As Director of Photography for Project Shadowstar, Roy helps bring the series’ themes of identity, purpose, and transformation to life through a cinematic visual style that balances wonder, mystery, and humanity.

Scott Weber — Sound Mixer
Scott Weber is a three-time Emmy Award-winning production sound mixer whose work has helped shape some of television’s most acclaimed productions. Over the course of his career, Scott has contributed to a wide range of award-winning series and feature projects, including Lost, Westworld, Rush Hour, and New Amsterdam.

Known for his technical excellence, collaborative spirit, and ability to capture authentic performances in even the most demanding production environments, Scott brings decades of experience to every set. His work helps create the immersive worlds audiences experience while preserving the emotional truth at the heart of each story. As Production Sound Mixer for Project Shadowstar, Scott helps ground the series’ mystery, adventure, and emotional depth through thoughtful sound design and world-class production audio, ensuring every moment feels both cinematic and deeply human.

Hali Orefice — Editor
Hali Orefice is an editor, filmmaker, and creative collaborator whose work is driven by a passion for authentic storytelling and meaningful human connection. A graduate of Pepperdine University’s film program, Hali has developed a reputation for crafting emotionally resonant narratives while helping creative teams bring clarity and focus to complex projects.

Known for her thoughtful approach, attention to detail, and strong storytelling instincts, Hali brings both technical skill and creative insight to the editing process. Beyond her work in post-production, she is a trusted collaborator whose calm presence, steady perspective, and commitment to excellence help create an environment where stories can thrive. As Editor for Project Shadowstar, Hali helps shape the emotional and narrative heartbeat of the series, guiding the footage into a compelling story that explores identity, purpose, belonging, and the journey of becoming who we are meant to be.
