Logline

Suddenly unemployed, Eileen takes her podcast obsession to unhealthy levels as she struggles both to find a new job and take care of herself.

Synopsis

We know too many surface-level things about too many people. Podcast hosts further complicate that with oversharing too many personal details. Both of those come to a head in this female-led, character-driven tragicomic short film that aims to highlight our parasocial relationships with media and personalities, written by Jamison Anthony and directed by Nieves García Perchin.

Told across all four seasons, “You’re Not Well” follows Eileen as her obsession with a pop-culture podcast “Now, That’s What I Call Content!” and host Danny Katz sends her spiraling out of reality. Over and over, she sends email after email, hoping to hear her question answered by Danny Katz, all while failing to take care of herself, her relationship with her boyfriend Jake, and even her job search. Will Eileen ever hear her question answered — and at what cost?
