Bio
Amine Hattou is an Algerian filmmaker and Fulbright scholar with an MFA from Columbia College Chicago (2024). A Berlinale Talents alum, he gained international acclaim with Down to Earth and his feature documentary, Janitou (2020), which screened at major festivals including FESPACO and Durban. Beyond directing, Hattou is a pivotal figure in North African cinema; he co-founded the Béjaia Film Lab and Dima Cinema to empower emerging regional voices. He is currently completing the short film ‘Anza’ (2026) and developing his second feature documentary, La Maison des ombres (2027).
