Amir El-Shenawy is an Egyptian documentary filmmaker. His debut feature, KILO 64, premiered at Cairo International Film Festival in 2018, earning nominations for both Best Arab Film and Best Artistic Contribution. His short film, ‘Edris,’ earned a Special Mention at Carthage Film Festival in 2022. His second feature, Seven Summits, premiered at Red Sea International Film Festival in 2025. A Goldsmiths MA graduate, Chevening Fellow, and Rotterdam Lab alumnus, he’s now completing his third feature, The Return of Captain Kabonga, slated for release in 2026.
