Bio

Be Garrett is a native of Philadelphia and started out as a production assistant on music videos for several prominent directors back in the 90s. He later moved to New York City and joined the production company Portfolio/Black Dog Films where he started as a production assistant and later become a director’s assistant, writing music video treatments. He was the recipient of the prestigious Silas Rhodes Four Year Scholarship for Film at the School of Visual Arts and graduated with a screenwriting major. After graduation he went on to work as a broadcast Producer at Ogilvy & Mather/New York. During his time there he produced commercials for IBM, American Express, DHL, Dupont, and many other agency clients. In 2007 he decided to venture out and produce, write and direct a short film called A Nick in Time, which was an official selection at 2007 Sundance Film Festival, Tribeca Film Festival, and played at the Festival Du Cannes. Garrett is currently working on producing and directing his first feature film called Last Rights.

Logline

Last Rights is the story of a politically active NEWS JOURNALIST who finds himself in the wrong place at the wrong time. A life changing event, the fatal shooting of a cop, sets in motion his unraveling. From death row, he emerges as a spokesman for the burgeoning anti-death penalty movement but finds himself alienated from his family and friends. uf
