Bio
Catalina Ausin was born in the colorful Mexican city of Guadalajara, Jalisco. She studied cinematography at the USC School of Cinematic Arts in Los Angeles; and at FAMU, Film and Television School of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, Czech Republic. She is a freelance documentarian for Biotour, a non-profit organization that travels the country promoting sustainability. Her work has screened at film festivals across the United States, including South by Southwest, LA Shorts Film Festival, and Atlanta Film Festival, among others. Her photographic work has been displayed in galleries across the country and globe, including at GoForALoop Gallery in San Francisco and Self- Help Graphics in Los Angeles. Her work was also published in a sustainability-themed book, featuring collective artists at Latajaca Galeria in Warsaw, Poland. Ausin shares her passion for filmmaking by teaching and mentoring students in video and editing skills. She has taught at Robert Zemeckis Center for Digital Arts through USC School of Cinematic Arts, New York Film Academy at Universal Studios, Live Arts Group, and the Mary Pickford Institute.
