Bio
Christina Carrea was raised in Canada near Akwesasne, a Mohawk reservation on the Canadian/New York border, and in Colorado. After studying fine art at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and completing her BFA at Otis/Parsons College of Art and Design, Carrea went to graduate school for Cinematography at UCLA’s School of Film and Television. Her work as a cinematographer, filmmaker, and artist has been shown internationally at Clermont Ferrand Film Festival in France, BizArt Center in Shanghai, and at the Tom Foundation in Amsterdam, and has also won several awards including The Audience Award at Cinequest Film Festival 2009 and Student Academy Award Finalist 2004. Her projects have also been broadcast on Time Warner Cable’s On Demand and on Amsterdam Television. Locally, her films have screened at Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) and Film Forum at the Egyptian Theater in Hollywood. Carrea is based in Los Angeles, and works in Vancouver and New York.
