Dane Smith

Bio

Smith was in the 2003 Los Angeles Film Festival with his short film The Freak, which has since been optioned by Mandalay Pictures to be made into a feature, which Smith will produce. Smith also produces visual effects for television and film. He recently completed several vfx shots for Guillermo Del Toro’s Hellboy. His most ambitious vfx project was for the screen adaptation of Madeleine L’Engle’s Wrinkle in Time(Miramax), for which he coordinated 8 artists and three vfx facilities in several studios to deliver key vfx sequences. In addition to The Freak, Smith has produced several other short films, all of which have played numerous festivals: Faktory (2001); Terra (2003), for Fox Searchlab; and Tank-Up.US (2003), a mockumentary about SUV’s in southern California. Dane is currently in post-production on a live action comedic short, Missing Sock.

Bondage was written by Eric Allen. Allen was recently hired to adapt the novel Wonderland Avenue, by Danny Sugerman, for Oscar winning producer John Battsek. As a producer, Allen raised financing and secured cast for the feature Goodnight Joseph Parker, starring Paul Sorvino.
