Daresha is currently directing the feature-length documentaries Mama Bears and Black Voters Matter. In 2018 she was commissioned by the ACLU to direct Trans In America: Texas Strong which won an “Outstanding Short Documentary” Emmy. In 2017 she co-directed Chavela, a multiple award-winning documentary, and produced Dispatches from Cleveland. Currently a Film Independent Doc Lab and WIF/Sundance Financing & Strategy fellow, Daresha is a former Firelight Documentary Lab, A Blade of Grass, Chicken & Egg, and Creative Capital fellow. With over 25 years of experience as a TV producer, she has created programming for FX, WE, AMC, Telemundo, and FUSE.
