Fisnik was born in Kosovo, ex-Yugoslavia. Exiled in Switzerland, he held a refugee status for over ten years. He holds a Bachelors in International Relations from the University of Geneva, a Masters in Geopolitics from King’s College London, and a Masters in Film Directing at ECAL/HEAD (Lausanne-Geneva/Switzerland). Since 2016, he has written and directed four short films, three feature documentaries and a feature fiction film. His work has been presented (among others) at Locarno, Tallinn, Clermont-Ferrand, Raindance, Visions du Réel, São Paolo, and Los Angeles, gathering him dozens of top awards. He is an alumni of Berlinale Talents and Ateliers d’Angers.
