Bio

Helen Estabrook is an Oscar-nominated producer. Her career started with Jason Reitman’s Up In The Air, and she went on to produce his next five films, including Tully by Diablo Cody and The Front Runner starring Hugh Jackman. She spearheaded Damien Chazelle’s Whiplash, producing first the “proof of concept” short film and then the feature. Other feature producing credits include the Duplass brothers’ Jeff, Who Lives At Home and Jean-Marc Vallee’s Demolition. In television, she started with the Golden Globe-nominated series Casual on Hulu. She most recently was executive producer of the limited series Mrs. Fletcher, created by Tom Perrotta.

No one gets Callie, an awkward kid whose one friend, Mabel, is a plant -- except Ms. G, her teacher who introduces her to the controversial world of “plant intelligence.” Desperate to impress her, Callie builds a secret greenhouse in her backyard, but Callie’s obsession sets her on a collision course with her mother and threatens her first connection with another kid.
