Bio

Award-winning filmmaker Jeff Warden’s accolades include producing and directing elements of Janet Jackson’s Rock Witchu Tour, where he worked with Dave Navarro, rapper Q-Tip, and Ms. Jackson herself. He was awarded the Motion Picture Association of America Award for Excellence in Directing, the Dorothy Arzner Award in Directing, and the Edie and Lew Wasserman Fellowship in Production. He also received support for two of his films from the Carl David Memorial Fellowship. His short film JACK n JILL was acquired by MTV Films and aired in 2009 on the LOGO network. It also appeared on a “best of” DVD that highlighted NewFest’s 25th Anniversary, distributed by IndiePix Films. In 2007 his short film Secrets, awarded prize for Best Short at the Hollywood HD Film Festival, was picked up and later distributed by Picture This! Entertainment.

Warden’s passion for filmmaking was sparked in his early teens and solidified as he traveled to some of the world’s poorest countries. He chronicled his experiences in Noah’s Ark, a short film about his travels that highlighted the worst of the conditions he experienced, and an incredible testament to the human spirit. His friends and family were moved to tears when he debuted his film upon his return to the United States.

Since moving to Los Angeles, Warden has worked closely with Academy Award-winning actor Morgan Freeman and his production company, Revelations Entertainment. Director Brad Silberling (Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events) personally brought Warden to Morgan Freeman’s feature 10 Items or Less. Warden has also worked with Mandate Pictures on such films as Juno and The Messengers.

Warden received his MFA in directing from UCLA’s School of Theater, Film & TV. He is currently producing a reality/web series and is also developing four feature films under his Lonely Tree Productions banner.
