Yanis Koussim is an Algerian film director, screenwriter, and producer. Koussim’s notable films include Roqia, the first Algérian horror movie selected for the Venice Film Festival’s Settimana della Critica. Alger by Night, which premiered at the Rotterdam Film Festival. In addition,  Khouya is about competing internationally at the Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Festival. Each film focuses on contemporary Algeria. Yanis has also done télévision shows and serials since 2006. After Global Media Makers, he co-founded the collective Plateau19, inspired by Film Independent, to support independent cinema in his hometown of Sétif.
