Lance is a Washington, DC-based filmmaker and producer of The First Step (Tribeca); City of Trees (PBS, Netflix); and Webby Award-winning documentary series The Messy Truth. Lance is an alumni of the Sundance Creative Producers Summit, the Impact Partners Documentary Producers Fellowship, and was named to DOC NYC’s “40 Under 40” list in 2021. Lance received the DC Mayor’s Arts Award, the highest honor given to working artists in DC. Lance currently serves as a board member of the Foundation for the Augmentation of African-Americans in Film (FAAAF), and is an active member of the Documentary Producers Alliance (DPA).
