Bio

Laura Colella has made three features films and several shorts as Writer/Director/Editor. Her latest feature Breakfast With Curtis premiered at the 2012 Los Angeles Film Festival and has been touring the festival circuit since, winning four awards to date. At the 2013 Film Independent Spirit Awards, the film was nominated for a Cassavetes Award and won the Jameson FIND Your Audience Award. Colella was a Sundance Institute Directing and Screenwriting Fellow with her second feature Stay Until Tomorrow. Her first feature Tax Day also received equipment support from Sundance. Her films have cumulatively screened at well over 100 festivals, winning more than 25 awards. She is represented by Julien Thuan at United Talent Agency. Colella began making narrative films at Harvard University as an undergraduate student of Raul Ruiz. She teaches at the Rhode Island School of Design and Brown University, is currently an MFA student in Writing for Performance at Brown and collaborates on multimedia theater productions with the EVERETT Company.
