Bio

Lorena Durán was born in New York and raised in the Dominican Republic. She was awarded the Purin Foundation Scholarship to attend NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts as an MFA candidate. During that time, she shot many award-winning short films and wrapped her first feature. Prior to Tisch, she worked in production for four years and directed and shot her first short documentary Fronterizas, which was a finalist for the 2014 Sundance Institute Short Film Competition. Durán studied classical guitar and sees music as her biggest influence as a cinematographer.
