Makanaka Mavengere is a Zimbabwean writer, producer, author, and emerging director with extensive experience across film, television, and literature. Her work is rooted in emotionally rich, character-driven storytelling that explores African identity and underrepresented perspectives. She wrote and produced Forget Me Not (2025), a short story about dementia and love in an African context.

Her writing credits include: Detention, Mr Easylook, Loving Thokoza, Boxing Day, Diep City, and Isitha: The Enemy. She is the author of Perfect Imperfections, which she is currently adapting into a series, and is also developing an African horror anthology and a psychological thriller.
