Bio

Michael I. Solidum is a cinematographer in Los Angeles, California. He was born in the Philippines and moved as a toddler to Los Angeles, the city where he was raised. Prior to his career in film, he attended college, law school and practiced law in Los Angeles and eventually moved his practice to Seattle, Washington and the San Francisco/Bay area. He practiced intellectual property, business, litigation and asylum law. As a youth, he was exposed to people and experiences that nurtured his desire to tell stories and he had his opportunity to pursue this dream when he began studying film. After taking night classes at a film program at his local community college and working as a lawyer by day, he was eventually accepted to and completed the cinematography MFA program at the American Film Institute Conservatory. His works include narrative features, documentary features and various short-form projects. His AFI thesis short film, Woman in Fragments, has screened internationally at various film festivals and he is currently in pre-production for narrative features slated for production in late 2014 and 2015.
