Bio

Nausheen Dadabhoy’s love for cinematography was born out of her shyness and a need to express herself verbally. The imagery she creates while working on projects in different narrative genres as well as documentary films and music videos allows her to express the many facets of her personality. Based on her experiences as a Pakistani-American, Dadabhoy’s goal in filmmaking is twofold: to make films that highlight the everyday struggles of Pakistani people, and expose western audiences to Pakistani and Islamic culture. Her goals led her to Pakistan in 2005 where she worked on a documentary about paraplegic women who find a place for themselves in a society that no longer values them. The resulting film, The Ground Beneath Their Feet, garnered her a grant from The Hollywood Foreign Press Association, and is currently in post-production. Dadabhoy shot the Pakistan segment of Michael Apted’s documentary The Power of The Game, and music videos she has shot including The Chosen One by Maher Zain have been broadcast in the U.K., North Africa and Asia. Dadabhoy received her MFA in Cinematography from The American Film Institute Conservatory in Los Angeles.
