Niranjan Raj Bhetwal is a filmmaker from Nepal based in Kathmandu. He studied scriptwriting and directing and is an alumnus of Berlinale Talents. His films explore Nepali culture, often focusing on family, spirituality, and elements of magical realism.

His short films Kafal Pakyo (2014), Madariyeko Nilo Dhuwan (2018), Anhad (2022), and The Witness Tree (2023) have screened at festivals including the Busan International Film Festival, IFFR (International Film Festival Rotterdam), New Directors/New Films, Raindance, and Clermont-Ferrand. He completed his debut feature Across the Rainbow Bridge, developed through programs such as Locarno Open Doors, Cannes Cinéfondation L’Atelier, NFDC Film Bazaar, and the GMM LA Residency.
