Bio

Ryan Navejar Gomez began his career in film with internships at Esparza-Katz Productions and the start-up Starcare Productions in Los Angeles. Later, he was an assistant to the Directing/Producing team of Robert Rodriguez and Elizabeth Avellan at Troublemaker Studios in Austin, Texas. While at Troublemaker, Gomez worked from development through release on
films such as Spy Kids, Spy Kids 2: Island of Lost Dreams, Spy Kids 3D: Game Over, and Once Upon a Time in Mexico.

After three years with Troublemaker, Gomez relocated to New York City and began attending Columbia University’s graduate film program, receiving a Producing Fellowship. During this time, he began producing many short films such as Madeline Olnek’s Hold Up, an Audience Award Winner for best short at NewFest (New York City), and the independent feature film Territory, directed by Lawrence Levine, official selection of the Cinequest Film Festival in Emerging Mavericks & New Visions. Both continue to make the festival circuit. He also served as production manager for the short film, It Will End In Tears, currently in post-production, and directed by renowned artist, Jesper Just, of Denmark.

The Pleasanton, Texas native who graduated from the University of Texas with a B.A. in Economics is currently in his third year at Columbia University.

Logline

Armando Santos, a twenty-two year old soldier, returns from Iraq to his small hometown in Texas, seemingly a war hero. As he attempts to reestablish his life he is forced to deal with what really happened over there.
