Bio

Sarah Dorman is a graduate of Columbia University’s MFA Film Program, where she focused on creative producing and screenwriting. Her thesis film, “Stay Awake,” written and directed by Jamie Sisley, premiered at the 2015 Berlin International Film Festival, won the Jury Award for Best Narrative Short at the 2015 Slamdance Film Festival, as well as the 2015 National Board of Review Student Film Grant. Currently assisting in development at The Mark Gordon Company in Los Angeles, Dorman believes well-told stories can make a difference in the world in ways both large and small. A native of upstate New York, she earned her BA with honors from Mount Holyoke College, where she studied English and Film Studies.

Dorman is currently developing her first feature, The Dust, with writer/director Amanda Brennan. The project was the recipient of the 2014 Sloan Foundation Feature Film Development Award and received an Honorable Mention for the Grand Jury Prize from the Tribeca Film Institute.
