Shanta, an award-winning Director, Producer & Cinematographer from Kathmandu, Nepal, is known for her impactful work highlighting marginalised communities. She has received the Columbia University John B. Oakes Award and screened her films at prestigious festivals such as Cannes, Banff, and Tasveer (the world’s only Oscar-qualifying South Asian film festival). She is the Founder & Director of the renowned film production company SNP/Shanta Nepali Productions, Charity (Shanta Foundation), and collaborative initiatives, Women in Film Nepal, an initiative dedicated to supporting women in the Nepali film industry.
