Sofia Aissaoui is a Moroccan-born writer and director based in Los Angeles. A graduate of ESAV Marrakech, she made her mark with the short film, Wind (2016), which screened at the Cannes Film Festival Short Film Corner and aired on BBC Arabia and TV5 Monde. Her latest short, Bloom Room, is a coming-of-age story exploring the tenderness and fragility of a first sexual experience. After stepping away from filmmaking to work in healthcare during and post-pandemic. Sofia returns to storytelling with a renewed sense of purpose using lived experiences as a catalyst for more authentic, deeply human narratives.
